Resilience & Leadership: Navigating Today’s Challenges as a Jewish HR Professional

In the wake of the significant rise in antisemitism since October 7, 2023, Jewish HR professionals around the world are facing unprecedented personal and professional challenges. To navigate these complexities effectively, Jewish HR leaders and practitioners need to develop a unique set of skills and competencies. These abilities will empower them to manage their own struggles, advocate for their community, and play a leadership role in fostering and building inclusive and supportive organizational cultures and workplaces.

Join us for “Resilience & Leadership: Navigating Today’s Challenges as a Jewish HR Professional”, an inaugural event dedicated to building community, enhancing skills, and gaining the confidence and support necessary to lead in these challenging times. This event marks the beginning of a movement—a series of both in-person and virtual gatherings aimed at supporting Jewish HR leaders.

The event will be divided into two parts:

Panel Discussion: Hear from a distinguished panel of Jewish HR professionals as they share their personal and professional experiences. Gain insights into how they are coping with the current climate and supporting their organizations amidst adversity.

Facilitated Workshop: Engage in a dynamic workshop focused on the human drive for meaning and connection. Explore strategies to rise above adversity with strength and unity, leveraging community support and resilience.

This event promises to be an evening of meaningful connection, learning, and empowerment. Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of a supportive community committed to resilience and leadership.

Note: Light refreshments and beverages will be provided.

Ticket Proceeds: All ticket proceeds will be donated to the JCCs fundraising initiative for “Special Needs and Different Abilities for Children, Youth and Adults.” The JCC is an essential community resource providing adapted, safe programs including fitness, social groups, sports, aquatics, day camp and life and employment skills programming. Under the guidance of specialized professional staff, vulnerable individuals with different abilities will thrive.

Join us on August 15th to start this important journey together.

Join us for an inspiring and empowering workshop designed to rejuvenate and uplift Jewish HR leaders facing the challenges of antisemitism. In this session, we delve into the profound human drive for meaning and connection, exploring how we can rise above adversity with strength and unity.

Charles Darwin's theory of survival of the fittest suggests that self-preservation drives our actions. Our default mode, driven by the amygdala, is defensive—protecting ourselves and reacting instinctively to threats. Yet, history and daily life reveal countless acts of selflessness and heroism, challenging this notion. We get this ability from our heroic operating system, allowing us to act with purpose and values, even in the face of fear. By understanding and articulating our values, we can choose to respond heroically rather than react defensively.

Inspired by Viktor Frankl's wisdom, we recognize the space between stimulus and response as our opportunity for growth and freedom. In this workshop, we will explore how to harness this space to choose heroic responses, fostering a sense of security through contribution, humility, and courageous vulnerability.

Antisemitism has tested our resilience throughout history, yet it also reminds us of our strength and unity. Through Jewish history, we have repeatedly demonstrated our ability to rise above adversity and shine as a "light to the nations." This workshop will reaffirm our collective power, determination, and resilience, inspiring us to continue making a positive impact together.

Join us for a transformative experience that will renew your spirit, reinforce your values, and empower you to lead with heroism and hope. Together, we will navigate these challenging times and emerge stronger, more connected, and ready to make a lasting difference.
