Many HR leaders at SMB tech companies feel like they’re standing alone on an island trying to navigate complex business and people challenges that regularly get thrown their way. They may struggle with their confidence or obtaining buy-in and respect from other members of the senior leadership team. They crave learning opportunities and the ability to connect with other HR leaders who are dealing with the same challenges they are. Does this sound like you? HR Leaders Connected is for HR leaders in the Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto and Kitchener-Waterloo tech communities.
HR Leaders Connected is an annual cohort-based program that provides learning, career development and networking opportunities to HR leaders using both virtual and in-person methods. Cohorts will be created in Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto or Kitchener-Waterloo and are designed for mid-level HR leaders who are leading HR for their companies, self-driven and courageous, and are looking to develop their careers.
Each “city-based” cohort is led by a facilitator who is a senior HR leader in tech and have lived in the shoes of each participant. Facilitated sessions occur every 4-6 weeks and session topics are crowdsourced on a cohort-basis. Program participants will have the ability to chart their own learning paths while learning from each other and industry experts.
HR Leaders Connected enables participants to gain invaluable learning, build their confidence, develop a close and trusted network and take their careers to the next level.
Each HR Leaders Connected cohort is for 8-12 HR leaders working in the SMB tech space. The all-in cost of the program is $2,000 – this includes 8 city-based facilitated sessions, 2 national facilitated sessions and 1 complimentary ticket to HR Leaders Collective in your city.

Elaine is a former HR Executive who has been building, scaling and transforming people cultures for the past 20 years. She created With Intention Partners to help companies build and transform with intention. Elaine has worked with some of the greatest companies, including EA Sports, Roxy/Quiksilver, Aritzia, Hootsuite, Finning Digital and Pure Sunfarms (Cannabis) - all during pivotal periods of change in their respective businesses.
Elaine is driven by solving complex people problems and building purpose-led cultures and employment brands that attract today's changing talent landscape.
Vanessa is an accomplished HR executive with a proven track record of driving growth, fostering high-performing teams and scaling for organizational success. Recognized for her grit, impact and care, Vanessa brings a unique blend of leadership qualities to her work. Vanessa has led HR at many tech companies such as BenchSci, AlayaCare, Shopify, and more, where she led organizational growth, built strong teams, led mergers and acquisitions and drove business scalability.
Vanessa obtained her MBA and Masters in Psychology, which she leverages to coach executives to grow in their careers.
Laura is an HR leader turned Executive and Manager Coach with over a decade of HR and Culture experience. Laura is known for her ability to build human centric cultures and HR strategies that drive business results and high retention rates. Laura has led high speed growth at tech startups, built growth-minded cultures and facilitated cultural redesign during merger and acquisition initiatives.
Laura has always been passionate about building human centric organizations that enable human development. in her spare time, Laura delivers podcasts on human design in business.
Susy is an international business executive and executive coach, having worked and led teams in 20+ countires. As CHRO, Susy has worked in rapidly scaling/rightsizing companies; coaching all levels; and leadership across multiple functional areas. Susy has led transformation/automation projects, global expansion and developed strategic initiatives at many copmanies - ApplyBoard and Clearco.
Susy holds an MBA from Western University and coaching designations - Harvard Coaching Strategies certificiate and a NeuroCoaching ICC designation.
