We have seen huge gains across the globe in organizations attracting and recruiting top talent from diverse backgrounds, but one group that has consistently been overlooked is people with disabilities. With more than one billion people globally and 6.2 million in Canada living with disabilities, it’s crucial for HR, talent leaders, and practitioners to rethink their approach to hiring and supporting this group of individuals.
Rethinking Disabilities, hosted by ScaleHR, is designed to help attendees address these challenges. From attracting and recruiting talent with disabilities to ensuring their inclusion in the workplace, this invaluable learning experience covers a range of topics led by speakers who have a disability themselves. Sessions focus on actionable and inspiring “hands-on learning” to provide attendees with tangible solutions that they can apply in their workplaces. Attendees will not only gain valuable insights into the challenges faced by people with disabilities but also support a charitable organization that helps them thrive!
Rethinking Disabilities is expanding in 2025! We’re bringing critical conversations on workplace disability inclusion to Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, and Winnipeg, helping organizations create more inclusive, accessible workplaces. This year’s theme, “Transforming the Workplace for People with Disabilities,” will challenge employers to move beyond intention and take meaningful action toward real change.
As part of this effort, we’re proud to support Max Brault’s book launch tour for The Race to the Starting Line. This groundbreaking book unpacks the Accessible Canada Act—one of the most transformative laws since the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and examines the ongoing work required to shift accessibility from policy to everyday reality.
